Ik heb als correspondent voor Hongarije in Zaken een bliksembezoek aan Boedapest gebracht en hierbij een groep VWO studenten mogen volgen en hierbij ervaringen opgedaan. Scholengemeenschap Huizermaat uit Huizen had deze cultuurreis georganiseerd via Hongest Reizen en ik heb twee dagen bij deze groep mijn eerste bezoek aan Boedapest mogen brengen. Mijn dank gaat uit naar de heer Koppers en de heer De Groot voor het opvangen en contact opnemen met Hotel Touring in Boedapest. Het was allemaal prima geregeld toen ik arriveerde op dinsdagmiddag 8 mei om vervolgens op 10 mei weer vroeg te vertrekken naar Eindhoven.

Ik heb in korte tijd veel geleerd en vooral het communiceren in het Engels en een interview afnemen was leerzaam. Hiernaast is het een bijzondere ervaring om "op pad gaan" als jonge correspondent. Het interview heb ik afgenomen, ik heb een onvergetelijke tocht over de Donau gemaakt met de "Legenda" en ik heb tweemaal heerlijk gegeten in Boedapest. Hiernaast heb ik een busreis in de regio meegemaakt èn een bezoek gebracht aan het Aquabad in Sziget. 's-Avonds was er nog even tijd voor wat ontspanning en kwam ik nog in gesprek met een adverteerder in Hongarije in Zaken. De volgende ochtend ben ik heel vroeg met de Minibus naar het Ferihegy Airport gegaan voor de terugreis. Graag wil ik weer snel naar Boedapest en ik heb de verhalen gelezen op het Huizermaat-weblog dat het merendeel van de studenten ook weer zo terug zou willen. Een volgende stap die ik leuk zou vinden is een volgend bezoek aan Boedapest, maar dan wellicht aan een vijfsterren Hotel in hartje Boedapest. Ik wil iedereen bedanken voor deze leuke kans en in het bijzonder de heer Koppers, de heer De Groot en het management van Hotel "Touring" voor hun tijd en medewerking aan het interview, dat op de pagina hiernaast te bekijken is.

Are you able to give us an introduction, and some unique points, of your hotel?

In this hotel there are 76 double doublerooms and 10 double-rooms with lavatory and 44 double-ones with shower and 6 double-room apartments with shower. Each floor has separate showers for sexes according to the rooms with lavatory. These kinds of rooms have: fridge, telephone. Ones with shower are equipped with television, telephone and fridge and handicapped guests can ask for them as well. High chairs are provided if needed. The Danubia restaurant with an intimate atmosphere and a capacity for 130 persons provides a wide range of national and international food. The open garden can be a place for grill-parties. The coffee- bar and billiard room are open until dawn. Our guest can get to the sights of the Danube bend by car or public transport easily. You can find the shopping centres such as Cora, Auchan and Brico near the hotel. For the sake of full comfort there is a range of extra services to be available: closed parking place, safe, exchange, taking credit cards, baggage room, arrangements, gift shops, telefax and copier.

What kind of people visit the hotel the most. Is that business, tourist or travellers?

Most of the people that visit hotel Touring are mostly Student/groups, visitors for a longer period, with a school project and City breaks. We are looking forward to visit more business people but other Hotels in the Gerand-group are perhaps even better equipped and have a more convenient situation in the middle of the city. Our focus is on the less-budget visitor and I must say a very nice group. Perhaps after their study the will visit Budapest again as a business man or woman. What are the most common regions of the visitors of your Hotel? We have many European visitors from The Eastern of Europe such as: Croatia, Latvia and Russia. Then we have visitors from the South of Europe such as Spain and Italy. Not forgetting the German, Belgian and Dutch travellers off course. In this group it seems that the Dutch groups are increasing more and more.

What are the expectations for this summer, and next year?

Luckily we do not need extreme promotion for our hotel, we see an increase of visitors and we have enough reservations each year. For the coming season and the year 2008 we have good expectations. But please feel free to promote our Hotel as we are working hard to give our visitors full-service and keep on growing.

Do you have further information about the hotel for our business readers?

Yes I have. We have several possibilities for business travellers such as: slide projector, overhead projector, screen, videoplayer, television, tape-recorder, flip-chart, amplifier, microphone (cord and cordless), DVD, projector, Internet, telephone, fax, photo copier, public address system. And we have five separate sections for meetings and Conference meetings. We have all options available for planning trainings, conferences and even weddings. Our goal is to relieve you and make important events memorable for you.
